The Kent Branch of the Marine Society and Sea Cadets is affiliated by charter to the national charity 'The Marine Society and Sea Cadets' (MSSC).
The charter is granted by the Trustees of the MSSC for the purpose of strengthening local ties between the national organisation and members locally within their county or area.
Under their written constitution they are also charged with supporting Sea Cadet Units within their catchment area, in our case the County of Kent.
We are managed by a committee of branch officers, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Who oversee the activities and financial business.
The branch also runs a small grants scheme for maritime related causes, especially individual opportunities for cadets to access training and activities where financial hardship is a barrier. These can be applied for through Small Grants Scheme.
